Lamb House, Rye

Lamb House, built by James lamb in 1722-23, has been home to many famous authors. Henry James, the American writer, bought the house in 1899 and many famous authors visited. E.F.Benson wrote the "Mapp and Lucia" stories there, his brother A.C.Benson gave us the words of "Land of Hope and Glory". The novellist Rumer Godden was a later resident.
